A new training service called Tsifrovoy Pomoshchnik (Digital Assistant) has launched on the federal platform Dobrino. The course is designed for volunteers who want to help senior citizens navigate smartphones and online tools. The initiative was introduced by SKB Kontur, which runs programs focused on improving digital literacy among older people.

Many elderly people feel embarrassed to ask for help or simply do not know where to turn to learn even basic smartphone skills. That gap is being filled by “digital volunteers” who guide them through essential digital tasks.

Essential Skills and a Certificate

The course is open to young people aged 16 and older. Participants learn the fundamentals of working with senior citizens and how to provide professional guidance on digital devices. According to the course developers, the skills acquired are useful not only in volunteer work but also in everyday life.

The program was developed with the involvement of experienced educators and volunteers from SKB Kontur. The result is a practical training product built around real-world questions from first-time volunteers. Upon completion, participants receive a certificate.
