A Russian Bank Has Strengthened Data Protection With a New Messaging Service

A major Russian bank has deployed a new secure messaging service developed by a domestic IT company, minimizing the risk of customer data leaks and showcasing the growing strength of Russia’s cybersecurity ecosystem.

A Secure System Built for Banking

The Russian IT company Ensign has developed and implemented a protected messaging service for the ecosystem of a major domestic bank. The new solution ensures the highest level of personal‑data security, meeting both internal banking requirements and national regulatory standards. It also demonstrates the successful progress of Russia’s cybersecurity technologies.

Previously, the bank relied on standard notification systems that no longer met rising information‑security demands.

Built Around Security, Transparency, and Simplicity

“Our main goal was to create a system perfectly suited for the banking sector—one that preserves customer trust,” said Alexey Postrigailo, senior partner at Ensign. “The solution was built around three core principles: maximum data protection, process transparency, and ease of use.”

One‑Click Opt‑Out and Maximum Protection

The developers created a unique solution based on open‑source software. They chose the Django platform for its simplicity and ability to adapt quickly to specialized tasks. The service operates on the secure RedOS 7 operating system, which complies with Russian cybersecurity standards. As a result, the risk of customer‑data leaks has been reduced to zero.

Another distinguishing feature is the built‑in customer control tool: users can unsubscribe from notifications at any time with a single click, giving them more authority over their personal information. To ensure maximum reliability and protection, the service infrastructure is hosted in a modern Russian data center equipped with backup systems and round‑the‑clock monitoring.

A Step Toward Digital Sovereignty

This project demonstrates the ability of Russian companies to create competitive, world‑class IT solutions. The successful implementation of a secure messaging service strengthens Russia’s digital sovereignty and highlights the importance of cooperation between the financial sector and the domestic IT industry in achieving a secure digital transformation.
