Oktava DM, a leading Russian manufacturer of electroacoustic equipment and a technology partner of Rostec, has reached an agreement to begin supplying NOTA (digital hearing aids) to Saudi Arabia. The talks took place at the INNOPROM. Saudi Arabia international industrial exhibition in Riyadh, where the company showcased its latest products, Rostec’s press service said.

Focus on Speech Signals

The Tula-based plant Oktava DM has developed a domestic line of digital hearing aids under the NOTA brand, comprising 12 models across three power levels. The devices are designed to compensate for hearing loss ranging from mild to profound (Grades I–IV).

Depending on the model, the processor handles sound across 6, 8, 12, or 16 channels. The devices incorporate proprietary algorithms that analyze the surrounding acoustic environment and focus on speech signals. A rapid adaptation feature is designed to help users adjust comfortably to wearing the devices.

Built on a Historic Foundation

The compact NOTA2 (digital hearing aid) and NOTA3 (digital hearing aid) models combine recent advances in auditory rehabilitation. Features include wireless configuration, Bluetooth support, adaptive noise reduction, and automatic wind-noise suppression. The devices also offer multi-directional and focused microphone modes, IP68-rated dust and water resistance, and expanded tools for medical professionals.

“Oktava manufactured analog hearing aids in the 1980s, but those capabilities were later lost. We have now rebuilt that expertise on the plant’s historical foundation and brought modern digital devices to market,” said Lyubov Stalnova, CEO of Oktava DM.

Earlier, Russian researchers reported developing a mathematical method to predict the effectiveness of hearing aids.
