"Sber welcomes the adoption of the law regulating the cryptocurrency market. It is an important step toward establishing the cryptoasset market in Russia," said Alexander Vedyakhin, first deputy chairman of the bank's executive board.

According to Vedyakhin, the bank took part in consultations with the Bank of Russia on the draft law to help balance the interests of the state, investors and the market.

Vedyakhin noted that Sber already has experience working with digital assets. Since 2022, the bank has been included in the register of information system operators and has participated in the development of the digital financial assets (DFA) market. Since 2025, it has offered qualified investors structured bonds and DFAs linked to Bitcoin, Ether and cryptocurrency baskets. In December 2025, the bank conducted a pilot project on lending secured by cryptocurrency to test the technological aspects of working with this type of collateral.

According to Vedyakhin, a number of implementing regulations still need to be adopted, covering areas from depository and accounting rules to the licensing of new intermediaries, and Sber is ready to share its expertise in this process.
