Sechenov University Develops AI Platform for Diagnosing Hypertensive Retinopathy
The platform runs entirely through a web browser and does not require users to install additional software.

Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University has registered RetinAIcheck, a service that analyzes retinal images to detect signs of hypertensive retinopathy. The algorithm determines the stage of the disease and generates a preliminary assessment, which is then reviewed by a physician.
The system is intended for use by ophthalmologists and cardiologists in healthcare organizations. A key feature is that it does not require any additional software installation. Retinal images can be uploaded and processed directly through a web browser. According to the developer, the platform is compatible with Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, while the service itself runs on the Astra Linux operating system.
The service achieves a diagnostic accuracy of at least 82%, and it takes no more than 25 seconds to analyze a single retinal image.
