Sergey Boyarsky, a member of the State Duma and chair of its Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications, spoke to the IT Russia media platform about digital threats facing Russia and African countries and the prospects for cooperation on cybersecurity.

– Russia and African countries face common challenges in the digital environment, including cyber fraud, the spread of illegal content, and the need to protect personal data. Addressing these issues requires a collective effort, with countries sharing experience and strengthening international cybersecurity cooperation. As technology advances rapidly, no country can ignore risks that emerge beyond its borders.

These issues and prospects for digital cooperation were among the topics discussed at the Global Digital Forum, recently held in Moscow with representatives from African countries in attendance. The next stage of the dialogue will be the 3rd Russia–Africa Summit. It will provide an opportunity to continue discussions on practical areas of cooperation, including technology and innovation.

Reliable digital infrastructure is equally important. International cooperation in these areas could involve sharing expertise and jointly exploring technical approaches. The main goal is to make the digital environment safer for individuals and businesses.
