Emergency Services Go Digital in Russia’s Perm Region

Residents can now reach rescue teams via the new “System 112” app, which connects them directly to emergency dispatchers with one touch.

Authorities in Russia’s Perm Region have launched a new mobile app called “System 112,” now available for download in RuStore, AppGallery, Google Play, and the App Store. The app represents a major step in digital transformation for emergency response, making it easier and faster to reach rescue services. Its main feature is the one-touch emergency call, which automatically transmits the user’s location coordinates to dispatchers, ensuring rapid response times.

The service also provides several advanced features. Users can track the status of their request in real time, use the “Silent Call” mode when speaking is impossible, and pre-load medical information into a special section to assist medics during emergencies.

Accessibility has been a core focus: users with limited mobility or hearing impairments can send text messages with geolocation data to emergency services. Authorization in the app is simple and secure — through SMS-based verification.

The digitalization of emergency services marks a significant step forward for public safety in Russia. “System 112” creates an intelligent environment for saving lives, showcasing how technology is becoming a real tool for protecting people’s health and safety.
