Digital Flashmob for Russia’s Flag Day Brings Thousands Together

Moscow’s Victory Museum organized a nationwide online campaign where thousands of people, mostly children and teens, shared creative tributes to the Russian flag.

The Victory Museum in Moscow hosted a large-scale online flashmob to celebrate Russia’s National Flag Day. More than six thousand people from across the country took part in the campaign, titled “Colors of the Russian Flag.”

Participants submitted photos featuring the tricolor, which were combined into a giant digital mosaic. Children and teenagers aged 6 to 14 proved the most active, contributing over three thousand creative works. They shared photos, crafted three-color designs from paper, balloons, flowers, and even embroidery.

Based on these submissions, the museum created a massive virtual flag. A full online exhibition of all contributions also went live on the institution’s website.

The platform now hosts open voting. The eight authors who gather the most votes will receive the “Audience Choice Award.” Organizers will also honor the most creative entries. Every participant will get a personalized digital certificate.
