Rostelecom Deploys Digital Safety Systems at Industrial Sites in Yugra
Machine-vision-enabled cameras monitor production facilities around the clock to improve workplace safety.
Digital systems developed by Rostelecom are being rolled out at strategic industrial sites in Yugra, a resource-rich region in western Siberia. The systems are designed to monitor compliance with workplace safety rules and strengthen industrial safety standards. Installation of one such system was recently completed at a fuel and energy company site.
The system is built around explosion-proof 360-degree cameras, along with data recording and transmission units. It uses a mobile server running specialized software based on machine vision and artificial intelligence technologies. The setup is powered by an independent power source and relies on dedicated data channels, allowing it to continue operating even during incidents.
The system’s algorithms provide continuous monitoring of on-site activity. When violations are detected, the system records them and sends alerts automatically.
Rostelecom’s project has already demonstrated its effectiveness and received recognition at the federal forum Bezopasnost TEK (Fuel and Energy Security Forum).
