Ural Federal University Moves Student Records to the Cloud
Ural Federal University has launched a digital system to store student records—from enrollment to graduation—in a secure cloud environment, in partnership with Rostelecom and Turbo Oblako (cloud provider).

The service, Elektronnoe lichnoe delo (electronic student record system), has entered pilot operation. University staff can now access tens of thousands of records instantly online, without handling paper files or requesting documents from archives. The data is stored within a secure environment that meets information security requirements.
According to Rostelecom, cloud infrastructure removes the need for universities to purchase expensive hardware and allows them to focus on core activities such as teaching and research. In the future, the platform could support automated document recognition and predictive analytics for student performance. Project participants expect UrFU’s experience to serve as a model for other Russian universities preparing for a full transition to cloud technologies.
