A Quarter of Russian Companies Have Already Drawn Up AI Adoption Strategies

Large businesses are leading the shift toward modern digital tools.

More than 26 percent of companies in Russia have developed an internal strategy for adopting artificial intelligence, according to a study by MTS Web Services. The survey covered more than 700 companies.

Cloud services are already used by 44 percent of respondents, while 42 percent rely on cybersecurity systems tailored to their specific needs. Artificial intelligence as a business tool is of interest to 36 percent of companies with annual revenues between 2 and 15 billion rubles (roughly $24–180 million). Among companies with revenues above 15 billion rubles (about $180 million), that figure stands at 26 percent.

Finance Leads the Way

According to the study, financial and IT companies invest around 10 billion rubles a year (about $120 million) in AI development. Unsurprisingly, adoption is higher in the IT sector, where nearly 30 percent of companies invest in AI, compared with 22 percent in finance. In less technology-driven industries such as media, only about 8 percent of companies are moving toward AI-based technologies.

Experts say that having a clear AI adoption strategy helps companies allocate resources more efficiently and achieve results faster. Analytics from ICT.Moscow show that up to 60 percent of Russian companies now use AI in their operations, suggesting that artificial intelligence has moved beyond experimentation and is increasingly seen as a full-fledged tool for business development.
