Specialists from Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, together with colleagues from Fakel Design Bureau, are establishing a laboratory for developing CubeSat-class small satellites. The laboratory will allow students and early-career engineers to gain practical experience in building spacecraft and preparing them for launch.

The laboratory is currently being equipped with the necessary hardware. The team is also conducting applied research into potential CubeSat applications. Priority areas include the development of communications systems and environmental monitoring of the Earth's surface.

According to the researchers, work in the laboratory will enable young specialists to complete graduation projects based on real engineering challenges, gain practical experience with industry equipment, and become part of a team developing next-generation spacecraft.
