A meeting in the Kaluga region focused on increasing the level of digital adoption across agricultural enterprises in the Central Federal District. Officials said sustainable growth in the sector is no longer possible without “smart” technologies.

In the Kaluga region, the use of drones in agriculture continues to expand. Unmanned systems are used to monitor crop conditions, while neural networks help optimize field operations by recommending fertilizer application. Artificial intelligence is also used to fine-tune livestock feeding processes.

“Our sector is one of the most technologically advanced. In the Kaluga region, a wide range of modern digital systems is already in use, including the ‘Tsifrovoe pole’ (digital field) and ‘Tsifrovaya ferma’ (digital farm). With workforce constraints, this is a key growth area. Digital tools help reduce costs and make agricultural products more accessible. It is important to leverage all digital solutions available in Russia,” Uvaydov said.

IT specialists have now been tasked with developing a new digital platform that will integrate all information systems used in agriculture. The goal is to significantly simplify access to and use of technological services.
