Kaspersky Says High-Quality Analytics Key to Cyber Defense

Artificial intelligence is expected to reshape the cyber threat landscape in 2026

Experts at Kaspersky outlined the main cyber threats and defense strategies for 2026, warning that AI is fundamentally reshaping the digital threat landscape. The technology is making it easier to generate phishing campaigns and malware, while also making attacks harder to detect due to the absence of recognizable hacker signatures.

Ransomware is expected to increasingly target organizational infrastructure. AI agents used within companies are also emerging as a new attack surface: if compromised, they could be manipulated to automatically load malicious code during routine operations. Experts caution that deploying such technologies requires strict safeguards, as risks now extend to cloud storage systems and even satellite internet.

Defending the Cyber Domain

According to Kaspersky, AI is still entering cybersecurity in targeted ways, but it is already helping attackers develop malware and scale operations. Continuous threat monitoring supported by high-quality analytics remains the most effective way to counter these risks.

The Kaspersky Global Research and Analysis Team (GReAT) has spent 18 years investigating advanced cyberattacks, espionage campaigns, and emerging infection methods worldwide.
