Production of the devices, intended to automate power line operations, has been launched at the Rudnevo industrial park, according to city officials.

According to Sobyanin, the “smart” systems help quickly detect faults on power lines, allowing operators to isolate only affected sections rather than shutting down entire networks, reducing disruption for consumers.

He said the new production facility marks an important step for the development of Russia’s energy sector. The equipment is assembled entirely from domestically produced components. Developers are also improving grid resilience, increasing automation in distribution networks, and reducing risks for personnel.

Total investment in the project amounted to 168 million rubles (about $1.8 million). Plans include opening another production site that will manufacture equipment for transport and power grid infrastructure.
