More than 200 medical AI services have undergone testing in Moscow over the past six years, with 67 already integrated into routine clinical practice, according to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

Experience gained by Moscow researchers is now being scaled nationwide through the MosMedII platform. Officials say 75 Russian regions have already joined the system.

“Moscow is Russia’s largest center for the development and evaluation of medical artificial intelligence technologies. We are building the medicine of the future – the kind once considered science fiction. Every year we launch new digital solutions, improve dozens of services, and steadily integrate them into real-world medical practice,” Sobyanin wrote.

The mayor also noted that artificial intelligence first began to see widespread use during the coronavirus pandemic. The expertise accumulated during that period was later adapted for broader areas of healthcare.
