Rosatom Launches Training Simulator for Lead-Cooled Fast Reactor Power Unit
Rosatom has commissioned the world's only full-scope training simulator for the BREST-OD-300 power unit, a Generation IV reactor with a lead coolant. The system is designed to train and certify plant personnel.

The Rosatom (State Atomic Energy Corporation) simulator replicates the operation of the BREST-OD-300 prototype power unit with a lead-cooled fast neutron reactor. The reactor is part of the Generation IV class of advanced nuclear technologies, and the simulator is intended for personnel training and qualification.
The new system fully reproduces the operation of the real prototype. It includes simulated main and backup control rooms, computing servers running a mathematical model of the plant, audio and video monitoring systems, and software that records operator actions. The simulator can recreate both normal operating conditions and emergency scenarios.
