Rosneft Develops New Method to Extend the Service Life of Well Equipment
Researchers have developed a method to predict salt buildup on equipment.

Rosneft researchers have developed a new method for predicting halite scale formation on equipment used in oil wells. The method can help extend equipment service life by allowing operators to schedule maintenance in advance.
The technology has already been tested at an oil field in Eastern Siberia, a region known for its particularly challenging geological conditions. The results confirmed the method’s effectiveness and versatility: it can also predict carbonate, sulfate, and sulfide scale formation.
“The development is part of
Rosneft’s technology leadership strategy and is already being integrated into
the company’s operations. Applying the technology at facilities in Eastern
Siberia will be part of a broader effort to improve oil production reliability
and operational efficiency,” representatives of the company’s press service
said.
