AI Platform Aims to Improve Robots’ Cognitive Skills in Russia
New research in Physical AI focuses on software technologies that help robots perform complex tasks using artificial intelligence.

MTS Web Services, which brings together MTS’s IT assets, has begun developing projects in the field of Physical AI. The initiative focuses on creating software that helps robots perform complex tasks and develop cognitive capabilities using artificial intelligence.
The platform is not tied to any specific hardware manufacturer. The software can be used with different types of machines, including humanoid robots, collaborative industrial manipulators and robotic dogs.
The company is currently negotiating partnerships with Russian and international firms. Among potential international partners are robotics manufacturers Unitree and UBTech.
Robots That Can Plan
As part of the project, engineers are developing a control system that will allow robots to determine the context of a task and the conditions of their environment on their own. Artificial intelligence algorithms will generate sequences of actions, interact with objects and evaluate the consequences of those actions.
In the second half of the year, the company plans to launch pilot projects and demonstrate the platform in operation. The technology will initially be aimed at use in warehouse infrastructure and data centers.
Robotic manipulators will be able to diagnose equipment, replace individual modules and coordinate their actions with human workers.
Robots by Subscription
MTS Web Services is considering several commercial models for deploying the technology. One option involves training robots with specific skills tailored to particular customer tasks.
The company is also discussing a service model in which it would provide end-to-end robotic process automation on a subscription basis. This format would allow enterprises to adopt robotics solutions without building complex in-house infrastructure.
At the end of last year, MTS Web Services unified its IT divisions under a single brand. The company’s updated visual identity reflects its focus on flexible technological solutions and the development of digital services.
