Corporate Video Communications in Russia Become Simpler and More Secure

Over the past year, the Kontur.Tolk service has made everyday calls easier and more convenient.

A bot for quickly launching video meetings and conferences has been introduced on the Russian platform Kontur.Tolk (Contour.Talk). Users only need to open a chat for a call link to be generated automatically. The service now allows meetings with up to 50 participants, with no time limits.

The bot has proven useful in situations where people using different devices need to be connected quickly, without installing a dedicated app. This conference format works well for small teams, educational sessions, and urgent work meetings.

AI Features for Greater Comfort

The service has added several AI-powered features designed to improve video quality and the overall look of video calls. These include subtle image correction, automatic face lighting in low-light conditions, and virtual backgrounds that can be created using text prompts. Some of these features are available to all users, while on-demand background generation is included in paid plans. As a result, video meetings look cleaner and more professional without the need for complex settings.

Security in Focus

The developers have also addressed the needs of large organizations. The service has expanded its information security tools and added integrations with DLP systems. These make it possible to log meeting events such as participant connections, recording starts, chat messages, file transfers, and screen sharing. An initial version of a deepfake detector for one-on-one meetings has also been introduced. Verification results are saved in reports and can be used to support security controls during sensitive negotiations.

Kontur.Tolk has been integrated with the InfoWatch Traffic Monitor system. Security teams can see the overall context of a meeting and configure which events are sent to monitoring tools to comply with internal company policies. In effect, the service is becoming increasingly embedded in corporate environments, evolving from a simple communication tool into a full-fledged component of managed business communications.
