The National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI” and UserGate have opened a state-of-the-art cybersecurity training laboratory to help students master modern information protection tools. The facility is equipped with advanced software-hardware systems powered by UserGate’s proprietary solutions.

Each year, about 100 students will undergo specialized training at the new lab. The educational process follows a practice-oriented approach, allowing students to work directly with real-world technologies used to protect data — including those applied in the banking sector.

As part of the partnership, the organizations also launched a scholarship program and internship opportunities at UserGate. The best students will be offered paid internships, while others can participate in workshops and certification exams to earn the status of “Certified UserGate Specialist.”

This initiative marks an important step in strengthening Russia’s digital sovereignty. The creation of such labs directly enhances the quality of cybersecurity education, ensuring that graduates meet the demands of the digital economy. The collaboration between academia, business, and government will help build a secure digital infrastructure and ensure the country’s long-term technological resilience.
