Russian Researchers Develop AI-Based Grid Protection for Solar and Wind Power Plants
The new algorithm was developed through a collaboration involving several research teams.

Researchers from Skoltech, the North-Eastern Federal University, and Sber's Center for Applied Artificial Intelligence have developed an intelligent algorithm designed to prevent failures in electric power networks. The system continuously analyzes incoming data to detect anomalies. When it identifies a potential threat, it immediately activates protective mechanisms.
The researchers say the technology is particularly well suited for wind and solar power plants, as well as data centers and industrial facilities with large concentrations of electronic equipment.
The algorithm also makes decisions within fractions of a second, a capability that is critical for protecting equipment that is sensitive to sudden voltage fluctuations.
