Russian Developers Create AI Software Designed to Cut Business Communication Costs

MTS Link, a Russian platform for business communications, online collaboration and digital learning, has introduced a new lineup of AI-powered products that could reduce the cost of deploying AI into corporate communications systems by as much as sixfold.

The company, which has operated on the market since 2008, developed both a hardware-software appliance and an AI connector that allows customers to deploy virtually any AI model directly on their own servers. The products are aimed at organizations that need tighter control over infrastructure and data handling while still gaining access to AI-driven collaboration tools.

The new offerings are expected to attract interest from government agencies and financial institutions, where secure data storage and infrastructure reliability remain mission-critical requirements. Organizations in those sectors typically prefer to keep information on internal servers rather than relying on external cloud providers.

Keeping Sensitive Data Inside the Corporate Perimeter

That approach is becoming increasingly relevant as enterprises look for ways to consolidate communication tools while maintaining strict control over sensitive information. At the same time, companies still need systems that support collaboration, meetings and team coordination. The MTS Link platform already includes services such as Vstrechi (Meetings), Vebinary (Webinars), Kursy (Courses), Chats, Doski (Boards) and COMDI, a service designed for hybrid and online events.

The company says its new products are architected so that all information remains inside the customer’s own infrastructure perimeter, even if the organization deploys both the hardware-software appliance and the AI connector together. Companies that already operate sufficiently powerful internal servers may not need the appliance at all. The connector itself can integrate AI capabilities directly into the on-premise version of MTS Link.

What exactly makes these products different? The hardware-software appliance, which includes a built-in AI model, is designed for customers looking to deploy AI-enabled communications infrastructure from scratch. Meanwhile, the AI connector allows organizations to run virtually any AI model on their own servers and integrate it with MTS Link on-premise, the server-based version of the company’s business collaboration ecosystem.

AI Integration Costs Could Drop Sixfold

The new software stack is expected to give enterprise customers significantly more flexibility. Organizations that are comfortable processing some data in the cloud can also use a hybrid deployment model. In that configuration, MTS Link communications remain on the customer’s own servers, while AI-generated meeting transcripts and summaries are processed in the cloud using the Russian MWS GPT model. According to company estimates, the new products could reduce spending on AI-enabled communications platforms by up to six times compared with previous deployment approaches.

In practice, that means companies would gain access to AI features such as meeting transcription, automated summaries, data analysis and AI-assisted handling of corporate communications while keeping all information inside their own protected infrastructure perimeter. The model is particularly relevant for organizations that are legally or internally prohibited from storing sensitive information in external cloud environments.

A Push to Automate Routine Workflows

In Russia, AI-powered corporate communications are increasingly being moved from public cloud architectures into protected customer-controlled environments. Deploying systems like these could accelerate workflows inside banks, governmental bodies, universities, healthcare organizations and industrial companies, helping institutions respond to customers more quickly. Combined with electronic document management systems and online collaboration tools, the software could also reduce paperwork and improve oversight of task execution. If the platform proves economically viable at scale, AI-driven communication systems may become accessible not only to large enterprises with significant budgets, but also to regional institutions, universities, mid-sized businesses and industrial operators.

At the national level, products like these are expected to strengthen Russia’s technological sovereignty in corporate communications while reducing dependence on foreign software platforms. Internationally, the MTS Link ecosystem could attract interest in markets where local data storage and independence from Western cloud infrastructure have become strategic priorities.

Demand from government organizations, the financial sector and critical information infrastructure operators for AI-enabled communications tools is extremely high. Every organization will now be able to access meeting transcription and summarization capabilities at an affordable cost that depends on the customer’s infrastructure capacity and individual requirements
