International AI Challenge Opens to More Young Innovators in Russia

Russia is expanding access to a global artificial intelligence competition, inviting young talents up to age 25 to take part in the AI Challenge.

Registration has opened for the international AI Challenge competition in Russia. Previously limited to schoolchildren, the contest is now open to college and vocational students across the country provided they are 25 or younger, according to Sberbank.

Participants will be tasked with solving advanced AI challenges and presenting their solutions to a panel of experts.

The competition is divided into three tracks. The first, for 'Beginners,' targets participants under 14 with basic knowledge of Python and machine learning fundamentals. They will compete against peers with similar experience. This category offers a prize pool of 600,000 rubles (approximately $6,700).

The second track, for 'High School Students,' is open to those under 19. Participants will use Python to develop a website or application. The prize pool is 6 million rubles (about $67,000).

The 'College Students' track challenges participants under 25 to develop a complete website or application, similar to the high school track. This category offers the largest prize pool—9 million rubles (roughly $100,000).

Winners will be announced on November 10 when the competition concludes.
