Russia Unveils AI Program Capable of Detecting 16 Types of Cancer Early

A breakthrough system called Galenos.AI analyzes medical records and flags signs of cancer with up to 98% accuracy.

A Russian tech company has developed Galenos.AI, an advanced artificial intelligence platform capable of detecting 16 types of cancer in their early stages with an accuracy rate of up to 98 percent, according to Gazeta.Ru.

The AI system reviews a patient’s medical record and questionnaire data to identify warning signs. If symptoms suggest cancer, Galenos.AI issues a recommendation to the physician for further diagnostic testing. The tool can recognize cancers such as melanoma, breast, cervical, laryngeal, stomach, and lung cancer, among others.

According to its developers, no direct equivalent to Galenos.AI currently exists worldwide.

The platform has already undergone a pilot phase in three Russian regions, where it screened over 10,000 electronic medical records. Full-scale integration into healthcare facilities is expected to enhance diagnostic accuracy and improve the early detection and treatment outcomes for cancer patients.
