Russia Launches App-Based Rehab Platform for Post-Hospital Recovery

A new mobile health app is helping Russian patients stay connected with doctors and recover at home after surgery or trauma treatment.

Russia has introduced a new digital rehabilitation tool aimed at supporting patients after hospital discharge. The app, called 'OrenHiT,' was developed by Sber and is currently being used by the Center for Surgery and Traumatology in Orenburg for remote patient care.

OrenHiT consists of two main modules. The first assists patients as they transition out of inpatient care, enabling doctors to monitor recovery, provide virtual consultations, and adjust therapy plans in real time. It also supports physical therapy and introduces patients to preventive rehabilitation techniques. The second module is designed for family members, giving them real-time updates on the patient’s condition and a way to communicate directly with healthcare providers.

Russia has been rapidly integrating mobile health apps into its medical system. These technologies are making healthcare more accessible and maintaining a critical line of communication between patients and physicians, even after discharge.
