Russia Creates Unique University AI Bot for Prospective Students

Russia’s Presidential Academy has unveiled a one-of-a-kind AI assistant designed to help prospective students and their parents navigate the admissions process.

At Russia’s Presidential Academy, developers have introduced an AI bot named Akademiy, built to answer questions about admissions, degree programs, and to give personalized recommendations. Unlike typical chatbots that offer generic responses, Akademiy analyzes user queries and adapts to their interests. For example, it can explain admissions rules, assist with documents, or suggest the most suitable department.

According to the Russia — Land of Opportunities platform, the more users interact with Akademiy, the smarter it becomes. During the 2025 admissions campaign, the bot will be retrained based on applicant conversations and feedback.

The creators’ main goal is to turn Akademiy into a full-fledged member of the admissions office. Future upgrades will expand its reach to master’s programs, colleges, high schools, and regional campuses. For now, it supports only bachelor’s and specialist degree programs, but soon it will help students at all stages of their education.

Artificial intelligence has long been a fixture in education, assisting with coursework and thesis preparation, checking documentation, and generating visual content like images and videos. Today, fully integrated learning management systems (LMS) can host various AI tools, analyze student engagement, and even transcribe audio for learners with disabilities.
