Russia to Build Automated Droneport in Yakutia Tech Park

Yakutia’s technology park is investing in a fully automated drone hub, aimed at advancing logistics, energy, and agriculture. The system will allow drones to be launched, charged, and managed without human operators.

Yakutia’s technopark has committed 24.4 million rubles (about $305,000) to acquire an automated droneport, an advanced system designed to manage unmanned aerial vehicles. The procurement tender was announced on August 15 via the government’s public purchasing portal.

The droneport functions as an autonomous base station that handles drone takeoff, landing, charging, and storage without requiring an operator. Through it, quadcopters can be controlled from anywhere with internet access, while also transmitting real-time data from sensors and cameras.

The technology could be used in search and rescue operations in remote areas, cargo delivery to hard-to-reach locations, and monitoring of power lines, pipelines, and farmland.

Deploying such solutions significantly expands the role of unmanned aerial systems in critical industries.
