Russian University and Satellite Operator Launch Space Partnership

Collaboration between MIREA and the national satellite communications company will train future engineers and advance next-gen broadcast systems.

The Russian Technological University MIREA and Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to unite education, research, and industry in the development of advanced satellite communication and broadcasting systems.

University rector Stanislav Kudzh and RSCC general director Alexey Volin said the partnership will allow students to gain hands-on experience directly tied to the country’s space industry and open opportunities for employment at RSCC facilities.

Training the Next Generation of Space Engineers

Joint work will take place in educational and research centers, where students specializing in radio engineering, geoinformatics, and IT will participate in the design and testing of satellite communication systems. The goal is to build a new generation of engineers ready to work with orbital technologies and digital networks.

RSCC is among the world’s top ten satellite operators, managing Russia’s largest geostationary satellite constellation. Its network provides broadcasting, data transmission, and internet access across Russia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas, serving clients in more than 60 countries.

Officials say the agreement represents an important step toward integrating education with high technology, fostering innovation in Russia’s space sector, and ensuring a steady pipeline of skilled professionals for one of the nation’s most advanced industries.
