Russia Launches a Fully Digital Dairy Farm in Siberia

From automated feeding to real-time health tracking, the new Tomsk facility shows how AI and robotics are reshaping agriculture.

A new high-tech dairy farm has begun operating in Russia’s Tomsk region, marking a leap toward fully automated agriculture. The “Bolshedorokhovskoye Moloko” complex — part of the Moloko agricultural holding — represents an investment of 2.8 billion rubles (about $30 million) and is designed to house 2,000 dairy cows producing up to 22,000 tons of milk per year.

Full Automation, from Feed to Milk

The farm’s standout feature is its end-to-end digital automation. Smart systems handle feeding, milking, and even monitor the health and productivity of each high-yield cow in real time. The facility also includes its own feed production plant, creating a closed-loop ecosystem that cuts dependence on external suppliers and stabilizes costs.

A Model for Next-Generation Agritech

Recognized as a priority investment project within Russia’s strategy for the economic development of Siberia, the farm embodies the shift toward data-driven, low-labor agriculture.

With precision controls replacing manual processes, and domestic technologies driving efficiency, “Bolshedorokhovskoye Moloko” demonstrates how digital transformation is reshaping the Russian food industry — from pasture to processing plant.
