Gazpromneft-Vostok, working with the State Construction Supervision Inspectorate of Tomsk Region, has remotely inspected and commissioned a new gas-fired boiler plant at the Urmanskoye field.

The online commissioning was supported by a Russian software platform designed for augmented reality technologies and devices. A state construction inspector connected remotely from Tomsk with an operator at the production site.

To stream the facility and record video, the team used an augmented reality headset with a built-in camera, allowing a real-time feed from the boiler plant to be transmitted directly to the inspector’s computer.

Autonomous and Automated

The boiler plant itself is fully automated and equipped with modern control systems. It operates autonomously without the need for permanent on-site staff.

According to Valentin Redko, capital construction director at Gazpromneft-Vostok, the company was the first in the region to roll out a pilot project of this kind together with state construction supervision authorities.

“Digital tools make inspections faster and more efficient, helping us verify equipment remotely and bring facilities into operation sooner,” Redko said.
