Russian Operating System Integrates “Vasilisa” AI Assistant for Smart Search

The updated release aims to balance the power of external AI models with the security of corporate data.

Inferit OS has released version 10.1 of its MSVSfera operating system, built on the RHEL distribution, Softline Group said. Inferit OS is part of Softline’s technology cluster.

The update integrates a local AI assistant called Vasilisa, developed by Siberian Neural Networks. The assistant performs intelligent searches across local documents and knowledge bases, generates concise summaries of requested information, and produces draft reference notes and letters. All of Vasilisa’s operations are carried out locally and confidentially, without transmitting user data outside the system.

“Our approach to building local AI solutions allows users to work with intelligent services anywhere, without relying on an internet connection,” said Viktoria Kondrashuk, CEO of Siberian Neural Networks. “At the same time, we have enabled optional connections to larger models via the internet. In these scenarios, full user files are not transmitted—only the relevant fragments needed to answer a specific query. This ensures a balance between the capabilities of external models and the security of corporate information.”

Convenience and Security

The new generation of the operating system also includes a one-click audio and video converter. The distribution comes with the Compass enterprise manager and the R-7 Office productivity suite.

An expanded Cockpit dashboard provides built-in tools for migration, monitoring and virtualization management. The operating system is available to users free of charge.
