ambov Region Unveils Hopper Drone Platform
The modular platform can be used to build both agricultural drones and cargo delivery aircraft.
At the INNOPROM 2026 industrial trade fair, Russian regions showcased their latest developments in unmanned systems. Among them, the Tambov region presented Khopper (Hopper), a universal modular platform designed to support multiple drone configurations, including agricultural aircraft and cargo delivery drones.
The agricultural version of the drone is equipped with a 50-liter chemical tank and can remain airborne for up to 40 minutes.
The developers say they have achieved a high level of manufacturing localization. The company produces the airframe, tank, and boom arms in-house, while the motors are sourced from Perm. Overall, more than 70% of the drone's components are manufactured in Russia.
The drones are already being used to treat agricultural fields, while the logistics version has been tested and operates reliably in temperatures as low as -25°C (-13°F).
