Ufa Eco-Park Tests AI System to Protect Visitors From Drones and Other Threats
At Tugan Yak Eco-Park on the shore of Krasivoye Lake in Ufa’s Dyomsky District, a Russian artificial intelligence system is being tested to improve visitor safety.
The neural network is being trained to identify several types of threats, including conflicts between people, unsafe swimming, smoking in prohibited areas, smoke, unauthorized entry, and people carrying firearms or bladed weapons. The system also monitors the sky and can detect drones, automatically triggering an alert when a potential threat is spotted. Another feature, called “gesture assistance,” allows visitors to instantly summon the nearest staff member, which can be especially useful for people with disabilities.
The AI will also monitor staff performance to help prevent negligence, while smart TVs have already been installed in the park’s rooms. The entire site has been made accessible, with ramps, adapted entrances and clear navigation. Once training is complete, the neural network will be able to immediately relay potential threats to the security team, helping prevent incidents before they escalate. The data is processed in accordance with personal data protection laws.
