Employees at the Volgodonsk branch of Rosatom Renewable Energy explained how virtual technologies help train specialists for high-tech industries. Students from the Volgodonsk Engineering and Technology Institute of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI had an opportunity to explore the latest advances in this field.

Atommash, an industrial facility in Volgodonsk, manufactures components for wind turbines. The plant uses a virtual reality (VR) training program to prepare its workforce. Employees use VR to learn how to assemble two key wind turbine components: the nacelle and the hub. In a virtual workshop, they can practice production tasks step by step and reinforce their skills before working with real equipment.

“Wind power development relies on advanced technologies, complex manufacturing processes and, above all, people. It is important for us to introduce students to real-world production, show them the opportunities in the industry, and help young professionals find their career paths at Rosatom,” said Aleksandr Guba, director of Rosatom Renewable Energy’s Volgodonsk branch.
