Digital System Now Monitors Heavy Equipment at Oil and Gas Fields in Tyumen
A multifunctional monitoring system has been installed on 36 dump trucks, loaders, excavators and shift buses.

MTS’s digital ecosystem has deployed an intelligent monitoring system on construction vehicles and shift buses operated by PremierStroyDizayn. The system is designed to improve driving safety at industrial sites and reduce the risk of collisions between vehicles during operations, according to the NashGorod.ru news portal.
Prevents Sleep and Warns of Collisions
The multifunctional monitoring system has been installed on 36 dump trucks, loaders, excavators and shift buses. The equipment is used to build infrastructure at the Nakhodkinskoye, Vostochno-Messoyakhskoye and Tazovskoye fields and other sites in Russia’s Far North. Built-in cameras and sensors track vehicle locations, help plan routes and monitor speed. They also warn drivers about obstacles, dangerous proximity to industrial installations and nearby machinery.
Inside the cabins, machine-vision technology powered by artificial intelligence monitors drivers and records their behavior. If a driver falls asleep, becomes distracted or fatigued, uses a phone while driving or fails to wear a seat belt, the system immediately sends alerts to both the driver and the dispatcher. The goal is to reduce human-caused incidents at industrial sites.
The system also allows fleet management to be carried out remotely. In addition, it encourages safer driving and helps reduce fuel costs.
Drivers Become More Responsible
Demand for AI-based transport solutions among companies in the Tyumen region has been growing every year. The deployment of smart video analytics has already demonstrated results: the total number of traffic accidents has dropped to 76%, and there have been almost no violations during the three months since the system was introduced.
Andrey Safronov, head of the IT, automation and communications systems department at PremierStroyDizayn, said safety at industrial sites remains one of the company’s top priorities.
Earlier we reported that AI is monitoring the loading of mining dump trucks at a diamond deposit in Russia.
