AI Now Saves Russian Businesses Hundreds of Millions

The debate over artificial intelligence is over. What’s next is mass adoption—and measurable profit.

At Russia’s AI Journey 2025 conference, President Vladimir Putin declared what many in the tech world already know: artificial intelligence has become a full-fledged driver of economic efficiency. The era of arguing over AI’s risks is giving way to a new phase of practical, measurable outcomes.

Experts say AI adoption is proving especially effective across telecom, finance, retail, and construction, where automation cuts routine work time by up to 40 percent. The resulting savings reach hundreds of millions of rubles for large corporations and hundreds of thousands for small businesses.

Kirill Pshinnik, head of the ZeroCoder Institute, shared his experience with IT Russia: ‘For nearly six months, we’ve been running an ecosystem of AI tools built using low-code platforms. We’ve deployed AI assistants in customer service, sales, technical support, and even editorial departments. Each of these products saves us between 200,000 and 1 million rubles a month,’ he said.

Those savings were calculated by factoring in the costs of hiring, onboarding, and integrating new employees into corporate systems. Another strong example comes from telecom giant Rostelecom, which uses its AI project Neurogateway to assess staff motivation and burnout—reducing turnover and saving hundreds of thousands of rubles on potential rehiring.

A wave of AI startups on the horizon

AI integration is accelerating not just in business but across the public sector. Neural networks now assist civil servants in drafting citizen responses, digitizing non-confidential documents, and generating official content. According to the ZeroCoder Institute, satisfaction rates among government employees trained to use AI tools are hitting nearly 100 percent.

‘The president’s call to develop a stronger market for domestic AI solutions signals a major shift,’ Pshinnik added. ‘We’re on the verge of a startup boom that will optimize work across every level of the economy. This will push citizens to embrace AI not only professionally but also in everyday life. Artificial intelligence has finally evolved from a trend into a practical tool for efficiency and resource savings.’
