Court Summons and Legal Documents to Appear on Gosuslugi Starting June 1

Beginning June 1, Russian citizens will be able to receive court correspondence through the Gosuslugi public-services portal, according to an announcement made in Moscow by Russian Supreme Court Chairman Igor Krasnov.

The change will affect everyone involved in court proceedings, including plaintiffs, defendants, and witnesses. Notifications, summonses, and procedural documents will now be delivered directly to users’ personal accounts on the portal, allowing information to arrive faster and reducing the risk of documents being lost in the mail. According to Krasnov, the system will help citizens stay informed about legal proceedings involving them in a more timely manner. Participants will be able to receive notifications and court documents more quickly, while courts themselves are expected to reduce administrative workload and mailing costs.

Digital transformation of the judicial system is also expected to continue beyond document delivery. Authorities plan to introduce remote participation in court hearings directly through the portal and create a dedicated judicial-services section inside user accounts where all case-related information will be centralized.
