South Ossetia Launches Local Alternative to Avito
South Ossetia has introduced its first mobile app for classified listings, called Ginoo. Since April 2026, the service has been available through RuStore, the App Store, and Google Play.
Development of the platform began in October 2025. The team studied competing marketplaces and repeatedly redesigned the app’s interface and features based on user feedback.
The app includes sections for buying and renting real estate, selling cars, a Farmersky rynok (Farmers Market section) for local producers, a Poputchiki (Ride-Sharing section) for trips between Tskhinval and Vladikavkaz, and a lost-and-found service. The platform also includes a built-in chat, premium accounts for promoting listings, automatic blocking tools, and spam protection.
The name Ginoo was chosen as a reference to Ossetian cultural identity and a poem by Ossetian writer Kosta Khetagurov. The development team plans to expand the platform into North Ossetia and other republics in the Caucasus.
