In Russia, Investors Are Offered AI Agents to Grow Their Wealth

The Moscow Exchange has introduced a new way to increase capital: market participants can now invest using artificial intelligence–powered services.

Consulting and Hunting for Opportunities

The Moscow Exchange announced the development of generative AI–based services for retail investors. The advantages of this solution are clear: AI assistants continuously search for investment ideas in automated mode. They can also analyze company reports and help build customized strategies for more successful investments, partially replacing traditional consulting with AI-driven resources. For example, the universal assistant FinGPT can recommend financial products, explain complex terms in simple language, and generate investment scenarios.

Changing the Rules of the Game

Experts believe AI could reshape the asset management market. These digital tools accelerate data processing and make analytics cheaper and more accessible to a wider audience. But challenges remain: algorithms still struggle to adequately assess negative events such as financial crises or force majeure, and they can be misled by fake news or poorly formulated queries. Another risk is that mass use of similar models could trigger chain reactions and even market crashes.

Investment for Everyone

With AI assistants, Russian citizens can invest more actively. These digital solutions make recommendations more accessible by lowering the barrier to complex financial analysis. There is no longer a need to be an expert or hire a personal advisor—IT development now provides the same functions.

FinGPT integrates several AI agents, which ensures a comprehensive response. If you ask, ‘Which stocks should I buy?,’ you won’t just get a list of issuers but a detailed explanation of the choice, taking into account news, analyst forecasts, company reports, and dividend expectations. Such a level of comprehensive response has few analogues either in Russia or abroad

For instance, FinGPT can suggest stocks and bonds, conduct investment analysis, or monitor the news cycle. AI agents could redefine the role of retail investors: helping Russians improve financial literacy, trade more often, and increase the number and volume of transactions.

In the long run, Russia’s investment landscape will also change. The rollout of this technology will modernize financial infrastructure and enhance market appeal. The growing popularity of AI in retail investing and its integration into investment services will support the international competitiveness of Russian solutions. Export opportunities are strongest in countries with developing financial infrastructures.

Personalized Analytics Becomes Available

The idea of investing with AI is not entirely new. In recent years, IT developers have aimed to transform financial products and automate processes. Russia has already seen automated investment platforms emerge as intermediaries between borrowers and investors. For example, FinEx’s robo-advisor builds passive portfolios of exchange-traded funds and manages them. Similar services followed: Sber’s 'Simple Investments,' developed with FinEx, and Yammi, designed for novice investors with limited resources.

In spring 2025, the Moscow Exchange announced Insight AI, the first Russian CoPilot assistant for employees. It works with office apps, analyzes user screens, reviews financial reports, and helps draft emails and documents. Now, the exchange is taking the next step: applying AI not just internally but also in customer-facing services.
