Russian Vendor Inferit ITMan Releases New Version of Its IT Asset Management System

The Russian vendor Inferit has unveiled version 6.5 of its Inferit ITMan platform, expanding automation and visibility across corporate IT environments as organizations face growing demands for transparency, control, and cybersecurity resilience.

Agent Management Works in a New Way

Inferit ITMan is designed for inventorying, accounting, and controlling IT infrastructure. The software collects data from multiple sources, identifies, enriches, and processes it to create a single, reliable source of truth for an organization’s IT assets.

Inferit ITMan inventories and accounts for hardware, users, and software across the entire IT landscape. The system can reduce IT infrastructure costs by up to 25% and automate up to 40% of manual operations. It also supplies normalized, cleansed data for ITSM, ITAM, and SAM systems, offering ready-made connectors for popular platforms and an open API for custom integrations.

In version 6.5, centralized agent management has been redesigned. Administrators can now edit agent configurations and manage updates both manually and automatically. Agents can be updated immediately or scheduled to update when they next appear on the network, a critical feature for distributed environments and systems with unstable connectivity.

More Detailed Inventory

Developers have introduced a permission-control mechanism for update execution, allowing organizations to account for information security requirements and internal compliance policies. This approach avoids complicating maintenance workflows or relying on large-scale manual operations. The network inventory system has also been upgraded. Inferit ITMan now includes improved system sensors and supports WMI–WinRM polling chains, increasing the stability and completeness of data collection in heterogeneous environments. Additional inventory fields have been introduced to capture more detailed infrastructure attributes.

Version 6.5 is a step toward even greater scalability and manageability. We are developing Inferit ITMan as a tool that helps IT teams reduce operating costs and confidently work with infrastructures of any scale, from individual segments to complex distributed environments with thousands of devices, non-standard protocols, and elevated security requirements

Expanded Data Collection Capabilities

Version 6.5 expands inventory capabilities through a REST API, which has been added to the list of supported network inventory protocols. This enables data collection from devices and systems that do not support traditional polling methods, including specialized and infrastructure hardware.

Authorization mechanisms within the REST API have been enhanced, including support for Redfish scenarios. New data-processing tools have been added as well, such as object storage in storeFields with field-level access, Base64 encoding, and string-processing patterns. These improvements allow the platform to work with non-standard data sources without requiring custom integrations. Inferit engineers have also improved object navigation in the updated version by introducing data separation by type and enabling object lookup by lists of identifiers.

These enhancements make it easier to manage complex hierarchies and interdependent infrastructure components, while also allowing data from individual scripts to be ignored when necessary. In version 6.5, information about IT assets and their relationships has become more detailed and structured overall. Existing users can already test the new functionality by updating the system and agents to version 6.5. The update strengthens Inferit ITMan’s competitive position as a comprehensive IT asset management solution and makes work with large-scale infrastructures significantly less labor-intensive.

Looking ahead, the platform could become a foundational tool for large holdings and government organizations in Russia, particularly as requirements for IT landscape transparency continue to tighten. The product also shows strong potential in network and API-based inventory segments. With further alignment to international standards and requirements, its export appeal could increase as well.
