Chuvash Republic to Launch Voice Assistant with Native Language Support

An AI-powered assistant will streamline services at local government centers while enabling real-time communication in the Chuvash language.

A new AI-driven voice assistant is set to debut at multifunctional service centers (MFCs) across Russia’s Chuvash Republic, local authorities announced during the Cheboksary Economic Forum. The technology aims to speed up administrative workflows while improving access for Chuvash-speaking citizens.

The digital assistant will help users navigate government services by checking documents, filling out applications, and guiding clients through self-service terminals. Authorities estimate it will cut service times by 20–30% and significantly increase the number of remote interactions. Special attention is being paid to improving accessibility for people with disabilities.

What sets this project apart is its full support for the Chuvash language. The assistant will be able to recognize spoken Chuvash, translate it into Russian for operators, and relay staff responses back in the user’s native language. According to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Krasnov, this is particularly crucial for rural residents and older generations, who are more likely to rely on Chuvash in everyday communication.

In parallel, a similar system is being developed for healthcare facilities to assist with appointment scheduling and provide guidance on medical preparations.
