Kaliningrad Region Emerges as Digital Agriculture Leader in Northwest Russia
Agricultural companies across the region are actively adopting artificial intelligence technologies.
Russia’s Kaliningrad region has become one of the leaders in the Northwestern Federal District in the rollout of digital systems for the agricultural sector. The announcement was made during an off-site meeting of the Russian Agriculture Ministry held in Kaliningrad.
According to the latest data, cybersecurity coverage across the region’s agricultural enterprises has exceeded 64%. Training in the use of artificial intelligence software has reached 100%, while the share of automated agricultural businesses stands at 46%. Officials also highlighted the growing adoption of precision-farming technologies.
Kaliningrad Region Agriculture Minister Artyom Ivanov said digitalization has become one of the main drivers of productivity growth in the agricultural sector. According to Ivanov, the introduction of modern technologies is already helping the region maintain leading positions in the production of milk, eggs, grain, and industrial crops.
