Protected Smartphone and Tablet Powered by Russian Processor Unveiled at Microelectronics 2026
AISA IT-Service has showcased pre-production models of the first rugged industrial smartphones and tablets powered by the K1892VM21Ya (Giperkom-U) processor developed by the ELVIS Research and Development Center. The devices run on the Aurora operating system.
The gadgets are designed for extreme conditions and are expected to be most useful at critical information infrastructure facilities, including those in hard-to-reach locations. Potential users include mining, transportation, oil and gas, and energy companies, as well as emergency response services, including the Interior Ministry and the Emergencies Ministry. The smartphone and tablet have an IP68 dust- and water-resistance rating.
“The AISA smartphone and tablet powered by the Russian Giperkom-U processor are an important step toward building our own technological core. Sovereignty is determined by the ability to develop a product independently: change its architecture, fix vulnerabilities, release updates and support the devices for years,” said Pavel Aiges, CEO of Open Mobile Platform.
