Shvabe and MIPT to Develop Next-Generation Energy-Efficient Microelectronics
Shvabe, a Rostec holding company, and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology have signed an agreement to jointly develop energy-efficient microelectronics and photonics. The agreement was signed at the Microelectronics 2026 Forum in Sirius.
MIPT scientists will work on materials and prototypes, while the holding’s specialists will adapt the solutions for use in actual devices and manufacturing. The work will be carried out as part of the development program of the Advanced Microelectronics World-Class Research Center. The technologies could be used in processors, memory and sensors to reduce device power consumption. The center is exploring ways to introduce new functional materials of different dimensional scales, including layers only a few atoms thick.
The two sides will also jointly train specialists, exchange expertise, and hold scientific and science outreach events.
