TopBLOG Teaches Creators to Build Content That Matters

The TopBLOG project, part of the presidential platform Rossiya – strana vozmozhnostey (Russia – Land of Opportunity), has opened applications for ambassadors. This season centers on responsibility for what creators publish and the ability to turn ideas into real media projects.

Spring 2026 kicks off with a notable opportunity for anyone thinking about launching their own media project. The nationwide TopBLOG project has opened a free educational program focused on the media space.

Participants of any age or location can now sharpen public speaking skills, learn how to work with content, and operate confidently in digital environments. Over five years, TopBLOG has reached more than 300,000 content creators across all 89 regions of Russia and more than 50 countries.

“We’re seeing a shift in how creators approach content. More people want to do more than chase views. They want to speak honestly, with depth and purpose. The sixth season of TopBLOG focuses on native content – a deliberate choice of topics, responsibility for what you say, and the ability to turn ideas into real media projects. What matters to us is that participants understand why they create and what kind of impact they want to leave,” says Irina Kruglova, head of the TopBLOG project.

Writing and Breathing

The sixth season focuses on meaning, social impact, and the ability to produce content that shapes public discourse and influences society.

The curriculum spans everything from creative thinking and personal branding to audience engagement and media ethics. A strong emphasis is placed on technical literacy. Under expert guidance, participants explore generative technologies and neural networks. They learn how to create content using AI and examine the legal and ethical frameworks behind it. The program also includes breathing techniques, diction, and voice control – skills that help turn a typical creator into a confident public speaker.

Content With Impact

The project’s evolution is telling. In 2022, during its second season, TopBLOG focused on helping creators build audiences on Russian platforms such as VK, Odnoklassniki, Zen, Rutube, and Yappy, reflecting shifts in the country’s digital landscape.

In 2023, the competition expanded further. More than 11,000 applicants entered the Special Nominations track, while 52 participants reached the final of the main category. By 2024, TopBLOG repositioned itself as a platform for socially meaningful content.

Alongside this, Masterskaya novykh media (New Media Workshop) developed as a federal program for media and PR professionals. In 2024, it launched a new intake focused on building a constructive and secure information environment, and by the end of the year expanded to include bloggers, journalists, media analysts, and SMM specialists. The project is now moving forward again with Akademiya strategicheskikh kommunikatsiy (Academy of Strategic Communications), offering courses in AI tools, media analytics, and information risk management.

Becoming the Face of a Region

“Being a TopBLOG ambassador is both a mission and a responsibility for the ideas and values you bring to audiences. Over the past year, I’ve realized I’m part of a community that understands content creation is not just entertainment – it’s a way to change the world for the better, to make people more thoughtful and empathetic,” says Anna Beya, a project ambassador from Moscow.

Ambassadors represent the project at federal venues, run regional media initiatives, host events, and coordinate local creator communities. Candidates must meet strict criteria, including maintaining an active blog with at least 5,000 followers on social media. The selection process has two stages – a creative assignment followed by an interview.

Over the past year, ambassadors have launched more than 100 projects, developed educational and media formats, appeared in national media, collaborated with brands and regional institutions, participated in grant competitions, and significantly expanded their audiences.

This Russian educational model is already attracting international interest. The Masterskaya novykh media program alone has received applications from more than 6,400 participants across Russia and 14 countries, including Belarus, Spain, Finland, Luxembourg, Uzbekistan, France, Belgium, and Mongolia. As the new TopBLOG season begins, Irina Kruglova invites participants: “Right now, we’re giving everyone a chance to start – to try, build skills, and gain confidence. From there, you can move forward with us and strengthen your voice.”

TopBLOG ambassadors are leaders who take responsibility both for their own content and for the media environment around them. They become focal points in their regions, bringing creators together, launching local initiatives, hosting educational events and media schools, and helping new bloggers believe in themselves and find their voice. In the sixth season, we are looking for people ready to become the driving force of the Rossiya – strana vozmozhnostey media project in their region to unite, inspire, represent TopBLOG at the federal level, and grow alongside the country’s professional community
