2GIS Brings Iconic Russian Fountains to Life With 3D Maps
Mapping service 2GIS has added animated 3D models of famous fountains, turning map markers into detailed, interactive landmarks.
More than 15 realistic models have been added to the app. In St. Petersburg, landmarks in Peterhof – including the Grand Cascade, the Crown Fountain, the Chess Hill cascade and the “Umbrella” trick fountain – are now animated. In Moscow, fountains at VDNH – such as Friendship of Peoples, Stone Flower and Golden Ear – have been brought to life, along with sites in Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill and the Tsaritsyno museum-reserve. Realistic models have also been added in Krasnodar, Sochi, Ufa, Kislovodsk, Ulan-Ude and Tyumen.
The feature is already available in the latest version of the 2GIS mobile app on Android and iOS, as well as on the 2gis.ru website.
