The training is delivered through the university’s “Tsifrovaya kafedra” (Digital Department) in partnership with Sber as part of the federal Priority 2030 program and the national project “Molodezh i deti” (Youth and Children). A core module is the course “LLM na primere GigaChat” (LLMs Using GigaChat as an Example), which is included in both tracks and introduces technologies capable of handling repetitive tasks typically performed by humans. Five faculty members completed the course in advance.

“The ‘Tsifrovaya kafedra’ project, implemented in partnership with Sber, plays a major role in setting workforce training standards for the digital economy. AI specialists are needed across every sector, and Sber is taking on the mission of preparing such professionals by offering cutting-edge domestic tools. Our students gain not only theoretical knowledge but also hands-on experience with neural networks and data analysis - everything required by the IT sector and business,” said Irina Popova, a lecturer at the Digital Department.

Students are already demonstrating practical outcomes. Law student Andrei Borona is analyzing judicial performance using clustering techniques: he collects open statistical data, uses Sber’s tools to group judges by efficiency levels and identifies the factors that influence those outcomes.

“Using AI makes it possible to identify patterns that can help increase transparency in the justice system and reduce case processing times. The project will result in concrete recommendations,” Borona said.
