Starting next academic year, the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (NRNU MEPhI) will introduce a bachelor’s program titled Tsifrovaya transformatsiya tekhnologicheskogo biznesa (Digital Transformation of Technology-Driven Business) at its Faculty of Business Informatics and Complex Systems Management. The program is designed to train managers skilled in running innovation projects in high-tech sectors, including venture initiatives and Mega-Science-class facilities.

Engineering Economics With Digital Management

According to program head Vladimir Kharitonov, a professor in the Department of Business Project Management, the curriculum is built around state-standard coursework in Management – engineering economics, finance, law, and industrial market theory – complemented by specialized courses in business digital transformation, quality management, and investment efficiency. The program also features advanced mathematics training, bringing managerial competencies closer to methods used to manage complex technical systems.

The study plan includes courses in computing systems, telecommunications, information security, corporate IT platforms, and neural networks. Classes will be taught by faculty from MEPhI’s Institute of Intelligent Cybernetic Systems.

“The competencies of innovation specialists must rest on three pillars: an understanding of technology, an understanding of economics and return on investment, and an understanding of the political feasibility of implementing specific projects,” Kharitonov said.
