Medical institutions in Russia’s Tver region are expanding the use of artificial intelligence, particularly in diagnosing diseases. The technology is helping clinicians identify conditions faster and with greater accuracy.

In 2025 alone, AI systems processed around 40,000 medical images.

During a visit to Tver City Hospital No. 6, regional head Vitaly Korolev described AI as one of the most promising areas in healthcare.

“I believe this is the future. We must create the right conditions for young doctors so they come to our medical institutions and are motivated to work here,” Korolev said.

AI has already been deployed in radiology, where algorithms are trained not only to scan images but also to assess the quality of examinations. The system analyzes imaging data across five areas: chest CT scans and X-rays, brain CT scans, fluorography, and mammography.
